Magic Software’s End of Sales, Support and Upgrade Schedule for eDeveloper Versions 6, 7, 8, & 9

eDeveloper Versions 6, 7, 8, and 9 Background
Magic Software’s eDeveloper Version 6, 7, and 8 were released more than 10 years ago and have been supported with a significant number of Service Packs and Hot fixes during this period.

eDeveloper Version 9 was released in March 2001 and has been updated since then as follows:

Minor versions:

  • December 2001 - version 9.2
  • February 2002 - version 9.3
  • April 2003 - version 9.4

In addition, we have released more than 15 Service Packs and 40 bug-fix versions during the eDeveloper version 9 lifecycle.

eDeveloper Version 10 was released in June 30, 2006, which introduced a paradigm shift that includes support for many new technologies. This version also encapsulated many wish lists of clients and partners to provide proper solutions to dynamic business needs.

The End-of-Life Schedule for eDeveloper Versions 6, 7, and 8
According to Magic Software’s product lifecycle policy, the end-of-life process for eDeveloper versions 6, 7, and 8 is as follows:

  • Extended sales and support will be available until end of Q4/2008 – 31 December, 2008

This means that all sales and support of version 6, 7, and 8 will be fully terminated as of end December 2008.

The End-of-Life Schedule for eDeveloper Version 9
According to Magic Software’s product lifecycle policy, the end-of-life process for eDeveloper 9 includes 3 steps:

  1. End-of-Maintenance - End of Q4/2009 (December 2009)
  2. End-of-Support & Sales - End of Q4/2010 (December 2010)
  3. Extended sales and support will be available from December 2010 to the end of Q4/2011 – however please consult our product lifecycle policy for the many differences between the standard support and sales plans and the extended one (see also different pricing). We therefore again recommend you to upgrade as soon as possible to V10, please consult Magic Software offices for any question you may have in that regards.

Extended Sales and Maintenance & Support
The extended Sales as well as Maintenance & Support will be available according to Magic Software’s Product Lifecycle Policy.
