Magic Software Enterprises (UK) Ltd., a subsidiary of Magic Software Enterprises Ltd. (NASDAQ: MGIC), a provider of application platforms and business and process integration solutions, announces an eDeveloper Amnesty Scheme enabling users of its application platform, without a currently maintained licence, to migrate to the latest uniPaaS technology version, at a reduced price.

Until December 31st 2009, any eDeveloper users with an out of date maintenance and support agreement for their licenses will be able to upgrade to uniPaaS, at a special discount rate. Magic Software will also assist with the migration process through training and outsourcing resources as required.

uniPaaS is Magic Software’s SaaS, RIA and Mobile enabled application platform. The platform uses a metadata-driven engine that speeds up the application development process and requires significantly fewer resources to fully deploy. It also allows users to develop, run and maintain a combination of deployment modes, including desktop, Client/Server, HTML Web Applications, mobile and Web 2.0 RIA, from a single development effort and code-base.

David Akka, Managing Director, UK, Eire, Nordics; Magic Software UK explains: “This is a great opportunity for eDeveloper users who have not maintained their licenses under a valid maintenance and support agreement to take advantage of the features of uniPaaS. For enterprises this means the ability to move quickly and cost-effectively to RIA. We are targeting literally hundreds of companies to take up our offer, since over the last 25 years, we have worked across practically all vertical sectors with companies both large and small.

For ISVs this means the ability to create a SaaS or Mobile offering without re-writing their existing code. We are targeting a large number of ISVs to take up our offer, since over the last 25 years, we have worked closely with channel partners to deliver flexible, scalable and robust solutions to their customers across practically all vertical sectors.”
By migrating to uniPaaS, organisations currently using eDeveloper can take advantage of:

  1. A single programming language for both Client and Server side RIA development
  2. A metadata engine that simplifies and speeds up development, prototyping and deployment
  3. Automatic partitioning
  4. Automatic context management
  5. Use of any .Net controls or assemblies
  6. Business applications that have the richness of desktop apps, with the mobility of the internet
  7. Browser-free Internet applications with secured HTTP, XML, sessions and authentication
  8. Compatible with Magic Software applications from previous platform versions
  9. Deploys WS-Security and WS-Interoperability compatible Web Services
  10. Complies with Enterprise-wide Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) strategies

Some of Magic Software’s ISVs in the UK include Safe Computing, Topaz, FactoryMaster and Corero. Channel partners receive Magic Software’s Total Customer Care Programme, providing training, strategic guidelines and marketing support.
