Magic Software Enterprises Ltd. (NASDAQ: MGIC), a global provider of cloud and on-premise application platform and business integration solutions, today announced that Staff Development Management Systems (SDMS Ltd) has selected its uniPaaS application platform to upgrade its Employee Development and Learning Management Software Suite.

Magic Software’s uniPaaS is an on-premise and cloud-enabled application platform that simplifies the process of building and deploying business applications. Through the migration of SDMS’ software suite to uniPaaS, SDMS gains new capabilities, such as the ability to update its user interfaces and create cloud-based rich internet applications quickly.
David Stevens, managing director of SDMS, comments, “Magic Software’s ‘do it once, do it right’ philosophy has made the upgrade process painless, quick and cost-effective. We are now in a position to respond to customer demands quickly, as IT trends change, such as deployment of our software to PDAs.”

Through uniPaaS, SDMS now has the flexibility to deploy its software suite simultaneously in different modes – in the cloud as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering or via mobile handsets – without the need to rewrite any existing applications.

According to David Akka, Managing Director, UK, Eire & Nordic at Magic Software, “We are very proud to say that SDMS has been a customer for nearly 20 years. By upgrading to uniPaaS, SDMS can now deploy its applications in both on-premise and cloud modes to meet the specific requirements of its customers, and all without the need to make changes to the underlying application codebase.”

As part of the upgrade process, SDMS also used uniPaaS to migrate its applications to MS SQL database. This migration now enables SDMS to share information with major RDBMS, and also with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle.  SDMS works for both public and private sector clients, so the company now has the ability to work easily with a wide range of databases.
