Winners of 2014 Magic Software Americas Awards Announced

Magic Software Enterprises Ltd. The firms and individuals recognized for their innovation and outstanding efforts are Christie Digital, AOD Software, Sheldon Clarke of Grange Insurance, Rebecca Nelson of City Electric Supply (CES), and Steve Blank of Steven G. Sheldon Clarke, Head of Application Development at Life Systems for Grange Insurance, received the Business Vision Award for exceptional strategic insight and business leadership of information technology initiatives. An insurance provider with $2 billion in assets and more than $1 billion in annual revenue, Grange Insurance recently modernized their Magic-based core life and annuities insurance application by upgrading to the Magic xpa Application Platform and implementing Magic xpi Integration Platform to automate policy generation and electronic signature features. In addition, Grange utilized automated testing procedures, resulting in the quick deployment of a stable bug-free application.

Christie Digital, a global visual technologies company, received the Innovation Award for implementing Magic xpi Integration Platform for JD Edwards to become the first Oracle customer worldwide to integrate Oracle JD Edwards, Oracle Fusion CRM, Oracle Agile PLM and Microsoft SharePoint. To our knowledge, no other integration platform has been able to enable this integration. Moreover, Christie Digital completed the implementation of this complex project quickly with their own internal resources.

Rebecca Nelson, Software Manager at City Electric Supply (CES) received the Application Leadership Award for her direction of a project to upgrade CES’ applications to Magic xpa Application Platform. An electrical wholesaler with more than 6,800 employees worldwide, City Electric modernized their Magic applications with new capabilities such as SQL and Rich Internet Applications, allowing them to replace their Citrix server and reduce costs.

AOD Software, a leading provider of integrated clinical, financial, operational and point-of-sale solutions to long-term and post-acute care (LTPAC) facilities, received the Partner of the Year Award for the continued growth and excellence of their Answers™ software solution. With more than 45 modules built with Magic xpa Application Platform, Answers offers single-point access to robust, enterprise-wide functionality, including electronic health records (EHR), MDS, care plans, assisted living, home health, human resources, billing, payroll and financials (general ledger, accounts payable, facilities management and donor development).

In addition, Steve Blank of Steven G. Blank Consulting received the Community Award for years of service to fellow Magic users.
