About Vlisco
Vlisco (Helmond, Netherlands) designs and produces premium wax-print textiles for West and Central Africa, supported by regional sales offices and multiple sales channels, from wholesale and e-commerce to retail stores.
The Challenge
Vlisco needed to streamline operations across a complex, fragmented landscape—spanning shop-floor systems (including SCADA), ERP (JD Edwards), reporting, DAM/PIM, e-commerce, PLM/PDM, and retail systems. Operators were forced to jump between multiple screens and manual steps for routine production confirmations.
At the same time, Vlisco required controlled, repeatable integrations with clear monitoring and error handling, and the flexibility to add new integrations (e.g., AFAS, Shopify, machines, and APIs) without heavy custom coding.
The Solution
Vlisco built a combined Magic xpa + Magic xpi foundation to unify applications and integration across the business.
- Magic xpa operator dashboards deliver a single, usable screen for shop-floor work, while business rules and JD Edwards validations run in the background.
- Magic xpi acts as the integration backbone, connecting JD Edwards (Oracle), Shopify, AFAS, DAM/PIM, and factory machines, with orchestration and monitoring centralized for visibility and control.
- Standardized error handling automatically routes issues to the right business owner (for example, pricing-related exceptions to the pricing manager), helping resolve problems at the source without creating noise for IT.
